026.Banded Sandstone – 12 grams
This is a beautiful stone. Mostly single coloured but then the brown colour comes in and makes it unique. Sandstone is formed from compacted sand grains, typically quarts or feldspar. The bands are the result of changing water or wind conditions during deposition. This type of pattern, especially the wave-like layering, is known as cross-bedding and is often found in ancient riverbeds.
Sandstone is known as a stabilizer. It holds the earths grounding vibration. Its visible layers represent the passage of time and lives transitions along with strong natural rhythms.
This stone comes from Snæfellsnes peninsula.
